@arstechnica Who's liable in case of an AI gives a wrong diagnosis ? My brother got surgery in the wrong wrist due to an x-ray mixup. He's thinking of suing the radiologist.
@arstechnica
Welp, right now there's a shortage of radiologists ( https://www.acr.org/Clinical-Resources/Publications-and-Research/ACR-Bulletin/2026/radiologist-shortage-work-force-update ).
Also cf Cory Doctorow : https://pluralistic.net/2025/12/05/pop-that-bubble/#u-washington
He talks specifically about radiology about 1/4 of the way down. Search "If my Kaiser" to find the exact spot if this is tl;dr.
