@eff @ktrendacosta Hey, that's why we're pulling our music off YouTube, Apple, Spotify, Deezer, Amazon, etc. What do we get out of it? Nothing. And neither do you.
Buy a CD, vinyl record, or...you know...wander in off the street and see humans play music again. It's fun, and you get to keep something that will work when the AI darkness comes. The album art won't need an internet connection.

OH the IRONY. I'll probably end up muting whoever promotes this Ship Of Fools as an information source
@eff @ktrendacosta It's the main reason not to buy new anymore, if one can help it. It's all corporate timed rental - they're out of my price range too, so - thirft stores are booming
@eff @ktrendacosta Fully agree — and P2P is one concrete way out of this trap: when your data doesn't have to be routed through someone else's server to be useful, there's nothing left to charge a subscription for. We started a group exploring exactly this — "P2P: Peer-to-Peer Technology for Business, Creativity & Life," currently on LinkedIn. Anyone interested is welcome to join the conversation: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/40502008
@eff @ktrendacosta if people continue accepting the subscription model, it is here to stay. We need to stop paying for it first, otherwise tech bros will continue the existing model. Own your sh*t indeed!
