going to solder up this new board, I discovered that the DB-25 connector won't fit and is 2 pins too short. why? turns out this is a DB-23. π€·ββοΈ

Really a D<nonstandard>-23, since the shell is not B size.
Just as later Apple floppy drive connectors are D<nonstandard>-19.
Ya just gotta love it when big corporations ignore established standards and do their own thing.
