@arstechnica Well, this is the much likely the most sophisticated way I ever have heard someone describing humans becoming guinea pigs for an artificial intelligence's curiosity.
Anyways, now name a practical usecase for this, that has nothing to do with war or riot control.
@arstechnica Why doees so much modnern SF treat space as fog-filled? There's no fog in space. Clouds of anything hot will quickly disperse. I guess they think it looks cool, or it's easy for CGI to do or something, but it makes no sense. Why even bother to have SF, or pretend it's SF, if it's just going to be fantasy in spaaace? The vast majority of modern 'SF' seems pretty stupid and pointless to me, sorry. Cheap thrills, with minimal intellectual effort. Might as well be pro wrestling.
