The way Michigan could and should fix that is to enter the market again instead of ignoring it.
Actually be competitive.
We know this is about EVs.

Kind of extreme I suppose, a better option would be to just make better EVs that people want to buy. I dunno how many start-ups I've seen crash and burn because the US government provides little to no real incentives for companies to electrify here.
In my opinion major manufacturers should be forced to produce at least a few category of economy EVs.

Not sure there are many day trippers into the us from either the north or south - now or in the foreseeable future
@arstechnica How f**ing stupid can you get? Protectionism is not the answer to anything- rather, it points the way yo needed progress. BTW, the Chinese cars I've ridden in, in Mexico, are really cool!
