Porsche once was in this situation before. They called the Toyota experts for Lean Management who recommended to create a cheaper car with many like-parts - birth of the Boxster, which literally rescued Porsche, together with Wendelin Wiedekind from Finance.
Stripping down the company to a smaller, hopefully wealthier target group is a deadly decision.
The final stage would be manual manufacturing again.
