@arstechnica Let's be honest. A lot of papers today are just performative with the authors themselves acknowledging (behind closed doors) their papers aren't even trying to discover new methods producing reliable evidence.
Given that, I'm all for more scrutiny of what gets funded. However, redirecting funding to politically safe, but equally low-quality papers ain't it.
