🖼️ The original FIFA World Cup trophy, the Jules Rimet Cup was designed by French sculptor Abel Lafleur. Cast in gold-plated sterling silver on a blue lapis lazuli base, it depicts Nike, the Greek goddess of victory, holding an octagonal cup aloft.

The Jules Rimet Cup crowned football's greatest champions from 1930 to 1970. After Brazil was awarded the trophy permanently, it was stolen from the Brazilian Football Confederation's headquarters in 1983 and has never been recovered, making it one of sport's greatest unsolved mysteries.
