Preservation Specialist Leslie Long discusses the history of Amy Maria Sacker (1872-1965), a book design artist and teacher of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries who designed more than 345 book covers for various Boston publishers beginning in the 1890s. Her figurative style was influenced by the new popularity of posters and in 1900, she opened her own successful decorative design school.
