@gloriouscow argh, the motherboard pullup isn't strong enough. you could try adding a 10K resistor in parallel with that line...

two different versions of the Zilog Z8 microcontroller. each can accept a piggyback ROM chip (2732).
here's a CPU upgrade in somewhat rough shape. maybe I should try to fix it.
