@iFixit I fixed some drifting joycons recently and I refuse to give up on my old macbook air!
@iFixit excited about fairphone swappable batteries! Want to build pihole and SAS.
@iFixit Replying to this one my Pixel 3a that has a used screen to be replaced ASAP. I'm hoping to double its current lifespan with spare parts from my wife's.
@iFixit I refuse to give up on my old crusty PS4, that I bough a few years ago as an used console. Currently it has issues such as overheating, and very loud fan speeds. I would love to open it and do some maintenance on it. I refuse to buy a newer console specially in this market where hardware is so high, and the games I have on PS4 are already enough for me. :omgdotlol:
I haven't been able to use it for a while because of these issues and I refuse to give up on it.
@iFixit My best repair was my relatives' flat panel television, which died because two LEDs in the backlight failed (documented in this thread: https://mastodon.social/@GamesMissed/114695247031745029). I have never been more angry at a terrible design that was never meant to be fixed.
I have a CRT monitor from 1995 that I will someday get running again, even though inside it has more components and circuit boards than my current computer, and is so structurally complicated it reminds me of an M. C. Escher painting.

New project: trying to fix my relatives' broken TV. At the point at which I have various parts of a television laid across half of my office. Testing backlight LEDs individually now. Current status: I want to set some television engineers on fire with my mind. #Repair
mastodon.social@iFixit after having replaced the battery twice in my old thinkpad and having stripped (some) of the screws, i can't wait for the mandated user replaceable batteries!
@iFixit I have a Dreamcast that I Know I can fix. Not sure what's wrong (It honestly could be anything) but I Will get it back up & running someday. >.<
@iFixit I refuse to give up on my 10 year old laptop. I keep it running as a server.
@iFixit my latest fix was soldering the power wires back into the board of a charger for an e-bike. The charger had fallen to the floor and detached the wires leading from the charger to the bike itself.
@iFixit I refuse to give up on my old(ish) Dell Inspiron 15 and replaced the battery and the coin cell battery that was deep inside and required dismantling almost everything. I'll be using it with Linux Mint and LibreOffice
@iFixit fixing the joycons, and the switch where they attach. I'm too cheap to replace if I can repair..
@iFixit I just fixed my nintendo dsi, and plan to keep it kicking as long as I can
@iFixit my zojirushi rice cooker had a little “non-replaceable” glued in coin battery powering the clock that died. Without it, I couldn’t pre-set it to have oatmeal hot and ready in the morning.
We almost bought a new one before I decided to take it apart and see what was wrong, but it turned out to be a relatively easy fix.
@iFixit I want to repair a MacBook Pro that stopped accepting electrical charge, and convert it into my first Linux set up to learn more about how to navigate that OS.
@iFixit Not giving up on my ultra-light Asus Zenbook UX331: After battery swap a bunch of falling objects broke the display. Spare parts exceeded current second hand prices and fixing involved more unglueing and reglueing than expected, but it's still an awesome beautiful device die to its lightness and form factor.
@iFixit I was able to replace my phone battery last year (2025) thanks to your great and very complete repair kit and tutorials. I want to repair another phone that needs a screen replacement.
Keep doing what you do 💪😁
@iFixit my ps4 that is very messed up I think its from the battery but I don't know and I don't have tools to fix it🪛
@iFixit I changed the screen on my nexus 4 twice

My most satisfying repair win is my clothes dryer. I've had it several years and besides regular maintenance to prevent fire hazards, I've had to repair it a few times. Sometimes it's been the drive belt for the drum, other times it's been the thermal fuse. I get a great sense of accomplishment from making a large machine work again.
@iFixit My first flat panel TV was a 43" Samsung that I fixed for $1.73 replacing 5 leaking capacitors. I would like to replace the lightning port and microphone on my iPhone 13 Pro.
